PRESIDENT OF ENGLAND RUGBY FOOTBALL SCHOOLS UNION

I envy the boys and girls and Corfe Hills School You are about to take part in the sporting tour of a Iifetime. This is especially true for the rugby players as they will be visiting New Zealand, year in and year out the strongest Rugby nation in the world. I must admit a special admiration for the girls' netball teams as they are in many ways pioneers in girls' touring. In the past only our national teams ventured abroad but now the girls of Corfe Hills are showing the way by touring at Schools level.

One of the happiest sights that followed the recent pulsating England v All Blacks game at Twickenham when the resilient New Zealanders almost secured victory from an impossible position was the mutual respect between the players which was endorsed by the crowds'

applause for the visitors as they left the field of play.

There was a similar response to the efforts of the Sevens team of Fiji during the recent Commonwealth games in Manchester. Throughout the last decade, they have brought their own particular brand of magic to Rugby which has enhanced the Sevens game to a higher plane as a world sport.

For many in the Corfe Hills party, it will be their first overseas tour. There is a simple message: enjoy it. Play to the best of your ability, within the spirit and laws of your sport. At No Side shake the hand of your opponent with a smile on your face. You will find you have made a lifelong friendship.
